Peterborough Power & Sail Squadron

Safe Boating Instruction in the Kawarthas Since 1959

Who We Are

Since 1959, we have trained thousands of pleasure boaters in safe practices and knowledge of our waterways by offering a number of training courses, in particular the Boating Course.

Today the Squadron has a membership of more than 300 and continues to offer Boating Courses each year along with Maritime Radio Seminars, Navigating with GPS Seminars, and Fundamentals of Weather Courses. It also provides challenge exams using the Boat Pro Manual to allow boaters to obtain their Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card (PCOC).

For its members, Peterborough Power & Sail Squadron offers Piloting and Advanced Piloting Courses when there is a demand. A new offering, Ad Hoc Skipper gives crew members a basic seminar to enable them to get the boat to shore if the Skipper becomes incapacitated.

Peterborough Power & Sail Squadron is a unit of Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons and one of seven Squadrons in Quinte District. There are more than 170 Squadrons across Canada divided into 18 Districts.
